Research Scheme on Power - Survey & Studies for Development of Guidelines for Optimization of Water and Waste water usage in Coal based power plants

August 2016 - onwards

EEC has signed a MoU with Central Power Research Institute (CPRI) for the Research Scheme of Power on “Survey & Studies for Development of Guidelines for optimization of water and Waste water usage in Coal based power plants”. 

EEC Governing body has constituted an expert group under the chairmanship of Shri D. K. Jain Ex. Director, NTPC Ltd with members from CEA, NTPC, CPRI and IIT Delhi for providing  over all guidance in the execution of this research project.

EEC with the guidance of the expert group has completed the Water Audit Report of all the four plants namely Kota TPS (210 MW), Sikka TPS (250MW), Bhusawal TPS (500MW) and NTPC Barh STPS (660 MW).

Water Audit report is released by Shri Ravindra Kumar Verma, Chairperson, CEA in June 2018.

On the basis of the water audit report EEC is in the process of finalizing the guidelines for optimization of water & waste water usage in coal based power plant.
